Bujinkan Kokoro Dojo is a proud subsidiary of The Bujinkan Shoshin Dojo Penrith.
We warmly welcome all female students aged 16 and older, regardless of skill or fitness levels, who adhere to the Guidelines of the Bujinkan. Our training environment is relaxed yet challenging and rewarding, allowing students to grow and thrive.
The Bujinkan encompasses the study of nine traditional ryuha (schools) inherited by Soke Masaaki Hatsumi, who teaches from the hombu dojo in Noda, Japan. We also incorporate Kyusho Jutsu (Pressure Points) into our training session.
At Kokoro Dojo we focus on "womens" taijutsu and is open to women only participants.
Learn how to avoid and escape potentially dangerous situations using your natural body weight in fluid motion.
I a world where domestic violence is on the rise and personal safety and empowerment are paramount, our Bujinkan classes offer a distinctive and effective approach tailored specifically for women.

What Female Instructors Often See Differently to Male Instructors
· Social Conditioning: Women are often socialized to be polite and avoid conflict. Female instructors recognize this barrier and explicitly teach women how to overcome the fear of "being rude" when setting firm boundaries.
· Intuition and Threat Triggers: Women frequently experience subtle boundary-testing or non-physical harassment before an attack. Female instructors understand these specific red flags and teach students to trust their gut instincts.
· The Freeze Response: Fear and trauma responses can manifest differently. Female instructors are often highly attuned to the psychological freeze response in women and focus heavily on emotional management and vocalizing under stress.
· Biomechanical Reality: A female instructor understands how to leverage a smaller frame, lower centre of gravity, and specific biological mechanics to defeat a larger, heavier opponent without relying on upper-body strength.
